The job

  • The candidate we are looking for has (initial) work experience in sweet pepper.
  • You will deal with the real cultivation technical aspects of cultivation on the one hand and the many business-related issues that are certainly just as important for growers on the other. Topics vary: crop assessment, fertilisation, crop protection, climate control, ICT/forecasting, energy, lighting and labour.
  • For pepper cultivation, you will actively work on setting up digital applications in cultivation, cultivation based on data.
  • A strategic advisor position with challenge with a huge future of opportunities given all the development going on in the field of digitalisation in cultivation and the development of the autonomous cultivation process.
  • The basis remains giving expert and reliable advice to growers. Good guidance from the cultivation advisor, should ensure that the horticulturist has real added value in running his business successfully.

The challenge

  • During the first two years of your career, in addition to your executive duties, you will participate in the Delphy Academy. Within the Delphy Academy, you will be trained as an “Expert and Professional”, focusing on your personal development. During this period, you will start working independently advising companies at home and abroad.
  • Besides individual advice, part of this function consists of cooperating in joint and broader research projects.
  • Delphy wants to be and remain involved in the latest developments in sweet pepper at home and abroad. This is an interplay between the market and future targeted research.
  • You will have every opportunity to develop further in advisory work, but also in project development and implementation.

What we require

  • A college or university education
  • Being able to work independently and in a team
  • You are enterprising and take initiatives
  • Good communication skills, convincing but also involved
  • Knowledge of Dutch, English and German is an advantage
  • You are prepared to work abroad regularly in the future
