At Delphy Improvement Centre, we focus on knowledge development within the sectors of greenhouse horticulture and indoor farming. Our mission is to make knowledge and (technical) developments applicable within sustainable cultivation systems and to transfer them to practice. The Improvement Centre is located in Bleiswijk and is equipped with practical greenhouse departments and indoor farming facilities. For further growth and development, we are looking to expand our research team.
This is what you will be doing as Research Specialist in Greenhouse Horticulture
As a Greenhouse Horticulture Researcher, you will conduct innovative and application-oriented research focused on specific themes, such as (LED) lighting, energy conservation, validation of technical innovations, and crop optimisation. You will acquire new projects by identifying research questions among clients and writing research proposals for both private parties and public research programmes.
You will draw up the trial plan and measurement plan, carry out measurements on the plants, either independently or in collaboration with colleagues, analyse this data in conjunction with the data from the climate computer and other sensors, and report your findings. You will organise all kinds of matters involved in the implementation of the project, including the Research Supervision Committee (BCO). You will help devise and acquire new research projects. You are independent but also work well in a team. You are aware of what is going on in practice and what (knowledge) questions are being asked. You are the link between clients and customers (grower groups, suppliers, national and regional authorities), fellow researchers and advisors. You translate your knowledge and research results into useful knowledge for your clients and customers. Your research contributes to the digitisation of cultivation knowledge and advice within Delphy.
You work at the intersection of research and practical application.
