Advice for arable farmers
Our advice focuses on optimising cultivation strategies and business results. We assist arable farmers and open-field vegetable growers with issues relating to soil, fertilisation, crop protection, variety selection, irrigation and cultivation planning. We combine the latest research findings with our practical experience in the field.
Research & projects
From our research location at the Rusthoeve experimental farm in Colijnsplaat, we develop knowledge about crops such as potatoes, onions and grass seed, and about topics such as irrigation, fertigation, biobased applications and new crops. We translate knowledge (through our advice or through national or international projects) directly into practice, for example on topics such as
- Precision fertilisation and nitrogen efficiency
- Drip irrigation and climate-robust systems
- Biobased crops and chains for fibre crops
Events
We regularly organise or participate in practical days:
- Onion Day on the last Thursday in August at the Rusthoeve experimental farm
- Demonstration days, e.g. on drift-reducing spraying techniques
- Regional field meetings, e.g. on water quality and fertilisation
