Team Research Arable Farming

Practical research that counts

At Delphy Research Arable Farming, you will work on applied research into varieties, fertilisation, diseases and pests, biostimulants and spraying techniques, at trial locations and at growers throughout the Netherlands.

Research with impact

You will work on current topics such as precision agriculture, the biobased economy, environmentally friendly crop protection and testing new techniques and machines. We also focus strongly on chain-oriented research and demonstrations, for example in seed potatoes, B carrots, grass seed and onions (via the UIKC).

Examples of current arable research by Delphy

  • Drift-reducing spraying techniques: research into low-emission spraying techniques in potatoes and beet. Various spray nozzles and air supports are being tested for effectiveness and drift reduction.
  • Robust and regenerative cropping systems: development of resilient arable farming systems using precision agriculture, soil sensors, efficient fertilisation and smart irrigation.
  • Thorough Approach to Soil Pests: practical trials with growers on sustainable control of soil pests through crop rotation, soil management and alternative strategies.
