With over 250 cultivation experts, Delphy is the leading knowledge company for entrepreneurs in all plant sectors, in the Netherlands and worldwide. Developing knowledge and making it applicable for and with our customers is in our DNA. Within the Projects & Innovation team, we are looking for a project manager with experience in agriculture and a keen eye for innovation.
This is what you will be doing as Project Manager Arable Farming / Open Cultivation Southwest Netherlands
As a project manager in the Projects & Innovation team, you will work on practical innovation and knowledge projects for the arable farming sector. You will take the lead, from idea to implementation. You will convince colleagues and external partners, thereby building impactful projects that address practical issues and policy themes such as soil, water, protein transition, and digitisation.
Together with growers, advisors, researchers and government bodies, you will develop projects with direct added value for entrepreneurs in arable farming, with a focus on regions such as the central and north-eastern Netherlands. You will translate signals from the field into project ideas and actively seek funding through, for example, LVVN, chain collaborations, provincial schemes or our European network.
What do we mean by “project management”?
As a project manager, you are responsible for the entire process:
- You identify opportunities in the market and society
- You develop project proposals
- You seek partners and funding
- And you manage implementation and results
- A Delphy project manager is therefore involved in the content and responsible for the organisation. The projects usually run for one to four years and are often publicly and privately funded.Within each project, you put together a team of advisors and specialists who are suited to the objectives. You monitor content, progress and finances, and make adjustments where necessary. You can also contribute to the content yourself, depending on your expertise and ambition. An important difference with, for example, a cultivation advisor is that you abstract practical questions and translate them into solutions at project level, which you then bring back into practice. This requires an analytical mind, project-based insight and a natural drive to connect. You ensure clear communication and reporting to partners and financiers. Together with the project support team, you ensure that resources are available on time and that the administration is correct.
This is what we are looking for
- An enterprising team player who is, above all, motivated and eager to learn
- Someone who likes to take initiative and be proactive, both within and outside our organisation
- Good communication and social skills
- Able to structure their own work and manage the work of your project teams
- Experience with project management and acquisition and preferably a network in arable farming
- Completed university or higher professional education (arable farming and horticulture related)
- Good command of English and Dutch, both spoken and written; other languages are an advantage
- Driving licence B
- You have an inquisitive mind and want to contribute to the development of a future-oriented arable farming sector
Our offer
- A unique strategic project manager role with a bright future in a growing organisation
- The challenge of applying innovative themes, from digitisation to sustainability, in practice
- A challenging and varied role where no two days are the same, with a high degree of independence and responsibility within your own team
- Depending on your experience and competencies, there will be a thorough induction programme with on-the-job coaching during the first year. With freedom and responsibility depending on your own commitment and ambition
- Development as a person, as an expert and as a professional: Through the Delphy Academy, we offer a multi-year programme in which you will be given the opportunity to develop
- You will work in a hybrid manner from the Rusthoeve Experimental Farm, the Wageningen Office, Westmaas and from home
- Excellent terms of employment, including 26 days of holiday and 12 ADV days for full-time employment
- A company lease car is among the possibilities
